Core Aeration

Aeration helps to:

  • Reduce the maintenance required for a beautiful lawn.
  • Reduce the amount of watering your lawn needs, up to 50%.
  • Increase efficiency of fertilizer and pesticides.
  • Minimize heat stress, disease, pest, and weed problems.
  • Believe it or not, the simple act of making little holes in your lawn can help it grow lusher, greener, and healthier while increasing efficiency of fertilizer and weed applications.
  • We can make it easier for you to grow a healthier lawn through aeration.

Why Aerate?

Let's take a closer look at your lawn. Plant roots need to breathe. When soil has a lot of traffic, or is not aerated regularly, the air in the soil gets "squeezed" out. Plant roots die when they can't breathe.

Roots grow where they find the best conditions. When soil is compacted, roots tend to grow close to the surface where they are more susceptible to drought and require more watering. The solution is aeration! With better soil conditions, roots grow deeper, utilize fertilizers more efficiently, and resist disease better. Additionally, healthy turf grows thicker, helping to crowd out competing weeds.

We can help! Core aeration makes small holes to relieve compaction. The holes vary in depth, depending on soil conditions. Aeration creates a crop of little soil "plugs" that break up naturally.

You will soon see greener, thicker growth, depending on the time of year and growing conditions. We recommend aerating your lawn once in the spring and again in the fall.
